Melissa Morrissey is a certified hypnotherapist, certified Pediatric Hypnotherapist, certified Pain Management Hypnotherapist, and certified Emergency Hypnosis Instructor. She received her training through Mottin and Johnson Institute in 1997 and is certified through the National Guild of Hypnotists. Melissa feels that hypnosis is a rapidly growing and changing field and therefore is constantly reading and learning new information and techniques. She has completed additional courses in memory and Advanced Hypnotherapy as well as several other areas. She has been featured in newspapers as well as on radio programs.
A twenty- year veteran of teaching with four years experience as a special education administrator, Melissa brings to her profession a knowledge of children, teaching methods, and different ways to learn. She completed her Bachelor of Science degree at Eastern Illinois University where she earned teaching certificates in the areas of learning disabilities, social/emotional disabilities, Intellectual disabilities, and elementary education. She completed her Masters of Science degree at Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville in elementary education-reading. She added an administrative endorsement from University of Illinois Springfield and a special education director endorsement from Concordia University. She is a published author and has attended and presented numerous workshops, lectures and classes. Melissa is also a 2010 finalist for Illinois Teacher of the Year.
Melissa has twenty years experience hypnotizing both adults and children in her private offices and Jersey Community Hospital.
